Wow….. I could not recommend this place enough!!!! The restaurant is small and intimate with just a decent tone of music…. The staff were great! Friendly and polite and the food came quick! The food…. Unreal….. the taste and everything about the food was absolutely perfect! The portions are really decent! We ordered the starter sharing board and a main each… this was too much for us to handle and luckily you can take the food away ;) Seriously…. Couldn’t fault this place!

Absolutely brilliant. We ordered the Sharing Starter Platter and the Kings Taster. We were greeted in a really friendly manner and our starters arrived promptly. The starter included pork belly, ribs, chicken wings, cornbread hush puppies and homemade pickles. Every single part of the starter we loved and everything was so tasty, tender and juicy that we couldn’t decide what our favorite was. Then onto our main which was a huge plate full of protein which came with two sides but they decided to throw in all three: slaw, bbq beans and cornbread. The ribs, brisket, sausage, bbq chicken and pulled pork were again full of flavour, extremely tender and cooked to perfection. We could tell all of the food was cooked with love, everything was homemade and worth every penny as you can tell it took many hours to cook all of the different meats in that way. The rubs, seasonings and sauces again homemade and we could taste they were made up of many different flavors and spices. It’s a great place for carnivores however even the macaroni cheese and bbq beans I would’ve been very happy to eat if I was vegetarian. I think the food is fairly priced as the dishes come protein packed and they don’t try to pad out the meals with cheap vegetables and carbohydrates. We loved the flavors, hospitality and value for money. This is a family run business and you can definitely tell how much love they’ve put into the food. It’s the bridge end of Whitstable high street and I really hope people visit as the food is amazing and it’s great to support these small family run businesses.
NOT value for money. We had a table for 10 people for Sunday lunch. We knew in advance it was a fixed price menu deal, but we did not expect we could not share a platter between two persons. We had no other options on the menu. One meal at one price. £28 per person for a plate of pork. The food was at best average. Service was pleasant and friendly. Not good value for money.
